Shop Small and Give Music

by Nikki Lanza, MNLM, MT-BC

Happy #SmallBusinessSaturday! Today and every day, it’s a great idea to see what small businesses that you support are offering.

Supporting small businesses is a wonderful way to give back to your community! When you choose Heart and Harmony Music Therapy, you help us provide our employees with important benefits like health insurance – something that contracted music therapists often don’t have access to. At Heart and Harmony, we believe that top-notch therapy is only possible when therapists and clients alike have top-notch support.

Not local to us in Dallas – Fort Worth? That’s okay! Our services can also be accessed via telehealth.

Music Lessons

People of all abilities can benefit from music lessons. Music enriches one’s life in countless ways – but did you know that learning an instrument has been proven to be beneficial? Music can develop and strengthen motor, cognitive, emotional, and even communication skills. Learn more about music lessons here.

Individual Music Therapy

Individual sessions are one-on-one sessions in which the therapist provides direct care to the client. Music therapy interventions are implemented to address measurable and data-based goals and objectives. Goal areas may go hand-in-hand with IEP goals, goals in other therapies, or other areas of need. Learn more about individual music therapy sessions here

Music Therapy Groups

Heart and Harmony Music Therapy provides group sessions to facilities throughout Fort Worth and Dallas. Because we employ a team of music therapists, we are a great fit for organizations that want to offer music therapy to their programs but are not able to employ a part-time or full-time music therapist.

Music therapy groups enrich the programming at private schools, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, group homes, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health programs, support groups, and more. Group sessions are appropriate when several group members have similar needs, such as mental health and wellness or physical rehabilitation. Music therapy groups are also highly engaging and are great for socialization! Read more about music therapy group services.

Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth

Music Therapy Assisted Childbirth (MTACB) is ideal for individuals who want guidance on how to most effectively utilize music in their labor and birth and desire to have the music therapist attend the birth. Birthing clients are taught how to use music to support their physical and emotional needs throughout the stages of labor and delivery. Learn more about MTACB here

Birth Music Consultation

Birth Music Consultation is ideal for individuals who want guidance on how to most effectively utilize music in their labor and birth, but do not plan to have the music therapist attend the birth. This is great for those who have doulas or other birth support in place, as well as clients who live in rural or distant places. More info on BMC can be found here.
