Music Therapy Groups

Group Music Therapy Sessions

Heart and Harmony Music Therapy provides group sessions to facilities throughout Fort Worth and Dallas. Because we employ a team of music therapists, we are a great fit for organizations that want to offer music therapy to their programs but are not able to employ a part-time or full-time music therapist. When you work with Heart and Harmony Music Therapy, your facility helps us provide our employed music therapists with important benefits like health insurance – something that contracted music therapists often don’t have access to. At Heart and Harmony, we believe that top-notch therapy is only possible when therapists and clients alike have top-notch support.

Music therapy groups enrich the programming at private schools, skilled nursing and assisted living facilities, group homes, inpatient and outpatient behavioral health programs, support groups, and more. Group sessions are appropriate when several group members have similar needs, such as mental health and wellness or physical rehabilitation. Music therapy groups are also highly engaging and are great for socialization!

Groups start at $175 for 50 minutes.

“Music therapy is the clinical and evidence-based use of music interventions to accomplish individualized goals within a therapeutic relationship by a credentialed professional who has completed an approved music therapy program.” (AMTA, 2010).

Music is an extremely motivating medium and unique outcomes are possible within the music therapy setting. Because of its various elements (rhythm, timbre, tempo, emotional association, etc), music affects many areas of the brain concurrently. Rhythmic elements and music can be utilized to create new neuropathways which stimulate brain function.
